They work! The Magic Lip Potion is built upon a special infusion of chamomile and calendula flowers in virgin olive oil that is unique to our products. Developed as a treatment for fever blisters and severely chapped lips, this favorite has drawn praise from hundreds of loyal customers.

The Skin Saver Salve is a must have for dry skin, cracked hands or feet, rashes, burns, cuts and scrapes. Soothing lavender and geranium are combined with the same special chamomile and calendula infusion found in our Magic Lip Potion.

Our Muscle Rub Salve is used by massage therapists, sports enthusiasts, and those suffering from arthritis. This blend of oils, including lemongrass and birch, in beeswax is believed to hold natural anti-inflammatory properties similar to aspirin. These properties may provide temporary relief to minor muscle aches and pains.

Q: Does your lip balm have sunscreen?
A:
No, but our Magic Lip Potion can still be safely used under normal circumstances. If your exposure to sun is high, we recommend exploring other product options while keeping in mind that those products are likely to contain synthetic chemicals. We really don't like the idea of ingesting chemical sunscreen ingredients and we don't feel that we could make a completely natural product that would warrant any strong claims regarding sun protection.

Q: What's in the muscle rub?
A:
The essential oil blend in muscle rub includes essential oils that are known for their anti-inflammatory properties. Though our product should not be considered a replacement for medical treatment, our personal experience and the experience of many of our customers has shown this product to provide temporary pain relief and a soothing tingling sensation when applied to sore and achy muscles and joints. Please consult a physician before using this product if serious medical conditions are present or suspected.

Q: Does your lip balm come in other flavors?
A:
No. The lip balm comes in one flavor only.

Q: What does the Skin Saver Salve smell like?
A:
Essential oils of lavender and geranium carry strongly on top of the sweet scent of organic chamomile and calendula flowers. Though not unpleasant, this product has a more intense medicinal quality to it and may be best applied in the evening before bed.

Q: You say your balms contain no petroleum. Why?
A:
As opposed to vegetable oil and beeswax, many cosmetics, lip balms, and intensive skin treatments are petroleum or mineral oil based. Mineral oils are believed by many to wreck havoc with your skin's ability to breath. The greasy feel associated with these oily products is not present in our natural based ingredients which are easily absorbed into the skin.

Q: Are your products organic?
A: Yes and no. Although our products are made from food grade ingredients, certified pure essential oils and organic herbs, not all are “certified organic” in accordance with FDA standards which presently apply only to foods, not skin care products. Some have suggested we label our products 100% natural and 80% organic, but we feel that the term “organic” should be reserved exclusively for products that are in fact 100% “certified” organic. At this time, many of the certified organic ingredients available are cost prohibitive or do not meet our standards of quality. We therefore do not claim “certified” status at this time. However, it should be noted that organic certification is a process of documenting ingredient purity that we believe already exists in our products. We encourage everyone to read the ingredients listed on all skin care products, especially those using the "organic" claim. We have found that often times, those brands touting the use of "organic" ingredients also include the most common and questionable chemical based detergents, emulsifiers, and paraben preservatives.

Q: Why don’t you offer a lotion in your line?
A: We don’t offer lotions and creams because they cannot be made without potentially harmful chemical ingredients. Whenever water and oil is mixed together, chemical preservatives and emulsifiers must be used to kill potentially harmful bacteria and prevent product separation. Truly natural creams and lotions must be refrigerated, packaged in airtight containers, and used in very short periods of time. Although we feel that these product types hold value, we have found that in most cases, the exclusive use of our emollient rich cold process soap combined with occasional treatments of our beeswax based Skin Saver Salve eliminates the need for additional moisturizing treatments.
