Q: What’s the difference between essential oils and fragrance oils?
A: Don’t be fooled! Many companies that claim to offer “aromatherapy” use proprietary perfumes or fragrances. These fragrances are more often than not just cheap, synthetic imitations of authentic, and usually expensive, essential oil essences. Chemically-based fragrances may have detrimental effects on the body as many people find themselves allergic to often overpriced perfumes. By contrast, the essential oils used in Good Witch’s Brew products, possess emotional and physiological attributes that have benefited mankind for thousands of years.True aromatherapy may only be effectively and safely practiced with the upfront disclosure of all essential oils used in the product. That’s why our product labels list all essential oil ingredients rather than attempting to hide a secret formula. Any product label that states the use of “fragrances” or “essential oils” without full definition most likely contain perfumes and/or a solvent based cut to lower production costs.

Q: Are your oils certified?
A: Yes! Our trusted suppliers can provide us with certificates of spectrum analysis on all oils delivered to us for use in our products. This means that the oils we buy are free of any significant chemical contamination, synthetic perfumes, or terpine cuts.
(top)Q: Why do you use grain alcohol in your mists?
A: We use grain alcohol as an alternative to common ethyl alcohols to preserve our mists, act as a skin toner, and assist with atomization. Without it, essential oils would become stale and there would be a risk of bacterial growth.
(top)Q: Do your spritzers / sprays only come in the blue bottles?
A: We use colored bottles to preserve the integrity of the essential oils within, as UV light breaks down most natural essential oils. Any time you see an aromatic spray that's in a clear bottle, question the ingredients because the product is most likely a perfumed synthetic fragrance product.
(top)Q: How long does the scent last?
A: The roll-ons offer a more concentrated long lasting aroma and may be used as a perfume. The spray mists offer a lighter scent over all as they are intended to be applied over larger areas as a body spray or room freshener. The spray scent will therefore dissipate more quickly with only a hint of the essence apparent after an hour or two. Citrus and mint scents tend to "flash off" more quickly than heavy oils like patchouli and lavender.
